You're Invited

​Gaylord Area Council for the Arts is inviting entries for the Holiday Artisan Market and Show, subject to the conditions of this Call to Entry. Artwork can be in any art medium and both 3-D and 2-D are accepted.  The pieces should be designed for and support the gift-giving season. Each artist may submit up to 4 wall pieces and unlimited giftables, as room is available.  

Eligibility & Agreement

​Submitting an entry into the Gaylord Arts' 2025 Holiday Market and Show constitutes agreement by the artist to the conditions and requirements as stated in this Call for Entries. Michigan artists 14 years of age and older may enter. You must be a Gaylord Arts member in good-standing to be eligible. All entries must be original works of the artist's own creation and gift appropriate is strongly recommended. All pieces submitted must be for sale.  Gaylord Arts reserves the right to photograph accepted entries for publicity or archival purposes.  Gaylord arts' reserves the right to reject any work for any reason. All accepted works will remain as placed (unless sold).  

​Sales, Conditions & Fees

 ​GACA will retain a 30% commission on the sale of any item displayed in this exhibit. Up to eight entries may be submitted. Additional items may be entered to replenish sold works. No entry fee is required, however, all pieces must be accompanied with a complete entry form and labeled (see below). Missing information will result in an automatic disqualification of the piece.  2-D art must be framed and wired for hanging at the time of submission. No sawtooth hangers. Clearly print on the back of each piece:
  • Artist's name,
  • The title of work,
  • medium
  • price 

Important Dates

  • November 19 - January 7, 2026 - Exhibit on Display
  • Accepting submissions November 12 - 14, 1:00 a..m - 5:00 p.m. (Form and artwork must be delivered to GAYLORD AREA COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS | 125 E. Main St.Gaylord, MI) 
  • December 6 - Opening Reception and Holiday Party 5:00 - 7:00 
PICKUP DATES:
  • ​January 7 - 9  All artwork from the show must be picked up.
*Artwork not retrieved within 30 days of the deadlines listed above become the property of Gaylord Area Council for the Arts, unless arrangements are made.

​Submission Procedure

8 pieces may be submitted. Please note: Items may be considered one item with a total count given, if all priced the same and similar in design, etc.  For example, 10 hand-painted glass holiday ornaments all selling for $15 would be considered one item. Completed entry form, fee and physical artwork must be received no later than November 14, 2025 by 5:00 pm (EST).  Artists are encouraged to replenish their pieces as they sell throughout the show.   
Entry Form and Fee submission procedure
In an effort to meet the needs of everyone, three options are available 
  • Submit form on-line and bring artwork to Gaylord Arts during the acceptance time frame listed above. 
  • Obtain a form In-person at Gaylord Arts during open hours.
Please note, if submitting online, artwork must be received at the gallery no later than the deadline listed above.

The mission of Gaylord Area Council for the Arts is to nurture and promote a creative community by facilitating, sharing, and encouraging individual expression through the arts.

Regarding Art News and other Gaylord Arts projects: These activities are supported in part by an award from the Otsego Community Foundation, The Lampert Family Fund, Kirtland Community College Gaylord, and Edward Jones.
