Black and White Doesn't Look Good On You
Artist: Carly Tyran
Medium: Mixed Media
Description: I got a little zesty with this one. We do not live in a black and white world. This piece is inspired by those that have experienced gray areas and were met with black and white reactions. And it challenges those with a black and white worldview to open themselves to the shades in between. Making this painting proved to me how easy it was to unintentionally add grey to a piece, as this was my first time working with black and white. I used brushes, palette knives, paint pens, ink pens, and scrapers to bring it all together. I was able to express myself in each stroke and my hope is for the viewer to connect with the emotion in this piece.
