Juror—Armin MersmannArmin Mersmann is well known for his intense naturalistic drawings, but also works in photography and art, sometimes combining all three. Mersmann has won major awards throughout the United States. Mersmann teaches drawing, the creative, advanced critique and iPhoneography in person and online. He is currently co-host of Art Ladders: The Creative Climb with his artist wife, Valerie Allen. Art Ladders features a podcast, online classes, and workshops. InvitationThe Gaylord area Council for the Arts (Gaylord Arts) invites Michigan photographers to enter the 2022 Juried Photography Exhibit. Digital entries are due by February 12, 2022. Awards will be given in two categories, as well as “People’s Choice”. An Opening Reception & Awards Ceremony will be held on April 9th, from 5-7 pm. The accepted entries will be on display at the Gaylord Arts Center from April 6th—May 25th.

Eligibility
Michigan photographers 16 years old and older and seasonal residents may enter. All entries must be original works of the artist’s own creation. Works exhibited in previous Gaylord Arts juried shows will not be accepted. Entries will be accepted in these two categories:
- Traditional Photography: Images taken by the photographer relying on any photographic process. Post-processing of any type allowed.
- Hybrid Photography: Any art work that combines two or more different photographs into an image (either digitally or physically) and/or combines photography with another media (painting, collage, encaustic, etc.). All photographs in the image must have been taken by the artist.
Submission Procedure
Up to 3 images (total) may be submitted. Submissions must be in the categories of Traditional or Hybrid Photography (i.e. 2 in Traditional, 1 in Hybrid or other combinations).
Images must be in .jpg format. Image size approximately 1200 x 1800 pixels.
Name image files as follows: lastname_firstname_title_category of entry
Upload photos to: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1651HsS9VfF4DkNV_NePfhj2GHM3aGmpN?usp=sharing by no later than Feb 12th.
Fill out entry form and submit payment by no later than Feb 12th, at www.gaylordarts.org.
Entry fee: $20 for Gaylord Arts members, $30 for non-members.
Photographers will be notified by email regarding acceptance of images by Feb 26th.
Accepted entries—framed, wired and ready to hang—must be delivered to the Gaylord Arts Center from Mar 30th to Apr 2nd. No sawtooth hangars.
Clearly print on the back of each accepted piece: Photographer’s name, title of work and selling price. If not for sale—”For Exhibit Only”.
Pick up unsold photos between May 25th to 28th. Photos not retrieved within 30 days become the property of Gaylord Arts, unless arrangements are made.

Sales
Gaylord Arts will retain a 30% commission on works sold during the exhibit. The sales price includes the matting and framing. All accepted entries will be featured at: www.gaylordarts.org.
