My interest in photography dates back to 1987 when I bought my first film camera, a Canon Rebel. I have independently studied and practiced the art of making images since that time. In my work, which is both representational and abstract, I endeavor to present the overlooked from an uncommon perspective. I seek to uncover the beauty in the transient and humble and the lessons they might offer. My viewpoint is influenced by the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, the art of haiku, and a practice of mindfulness. Carol is involved with the Traverse City Camera Club and chairs their program committee. Carol’s work has been displayed at Crooked Tree Art Center and Higher Art Gallery in Traverse City, as well as at Traverse City.
